This tutorial will show you how to sort FAQ posts in WordPress CherryFramework 3 based templates.
CherryFramework 3. How to sort FAQ postsYou can sort default, as well as FAQ posts, and any custom Post Type items, using a Post Type Order plugin.
Let’s install and activate it.
First of all, you need to download Post Type Order plugin to your personal computer. You can use this link: Post Types Order plugin:
Install the Post Type Order plugin through Install Plugins interface or by uploading the post-types-order folder to your /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
Activate Post Type Order plugin:
A new settings page will be created within Settings > Post Types Order. You should check its functions and adjust them to your needs:
Turning on the AutoSort option, you don’t need to worry about any code changes, you can the update post order in the plugin by drag-and-dropping posts:
Let’s go back to FAQ management section and use the Re-Order interface, which will appear for every custom post type (non-hierarchical) to change the post order to a new one:
You will see your FAQ posts list. Just drag-and-drop them to from the order you need.
Save changes and visit your FAQs page:
As you can see, with the help of simple drag-and-drop you can change post ordering on your website frontend right away. If for some reason post order does not update on your front side, you either did something wrong, or your theme code does not use standard query per WordPress Codex rules and regulations.
