This tutorial shows how to manage number of columns for the category blog layout. In this example the category blog layout is available at the template home page.
What is category blog layout.
It’s a page that displays articles from the specified category.
How to create category blog layout
- From the Joomla admin panel open Menus > your_menu
- Add new menu item
- as a menu type select category blog
The Joomla home page is called Font Page blog layout. How does it work?
The Joomla Front Page blog layout displays featured articles from all categories. However the page settings are the same as for the blog layout.
OK, I tried to answer the most popular questions, let’s proceed to the page setting. When you are at the menu item editing screen in the right column you can see the Parameters section. There are 4 values. Let’s see what they are used for.
Leading: defined the number of articles that will be displayed at the top of the page in a single column
Intro: defined the number of articles that will be displayed in multiple columns
Columns: defines the number of columns for the Intro items.
Links: defines the number of articles that will be displayed as links
You can change the values the way you need. Make sure to save your changes after editing clicking on the Save button at the top.
