This question usually occurs if you already have a site that uses much traffic and you are interested in converting it into money. It is also called website monetization. There are three most popular ways of it:

Earning money via advertising

Advertising is the most straight-forward way which mostly includes:

It is similar to regular advertising, that is it will display relevant information as well but the difference is that a different payment model will be used: you will get paid only after a user purchases something from the referral (affiliate) link you provided on the site which is also called CPA (Cost Per Action).

This way can be easy enough integrated, although it needs more efforts than the advertising way but it can bring much more money.

Earning money via sales

It is the most profound way of monetization. If you have a website on a certain topic, you can have separate sections where you will sell the products relevant to your audience. For example, if you have a bicycle site, you can sell wheels in one section and other equipment in another section.

Advantages:

• no redirect from your site, that is your visitors will not have to go to third party sites which is very good for your brand;

• you do not have to be a vendor selling the equipment, because there are many affiliate programs offering the white label partnership model: you create only a separate section on your site and embed the product snippet code there.

Payment model: CPA (Cost Per Action) or profit margin.

This way is the most profitable.
