This tutorial will show you how to enable/disable the Print, PDF and Email icons for articles in Joomla.
The icons could be enables/disabled in Joomla administration panel.
Global Settings.
The global settings allow you to configure the icons for all articles.
Joomla 1.5.x
Open the admin panel and go to Content > Articles manager. In the top right corner click the Parameters button.
In the appeared window scroll down, there you can enable or disable: Icons, PDF icon, Pring Icon and Email icon. Click save when you are done.
Joomla 1.6.x
Open the admin panel and go to Content > Articles manager. In the top right corner click the Options button.
In the appeared window scroll down, there you can enable or disable: Icons, Pring Icon and Email icon. Joomla 1.6.x doesn’t have the PDF icon and functionality included. Click save when you are done.
Single Article options
You can also specify if you want to enable or disable the icons for specific articles.
Joomla 1.5.x
Open the admin panel and go to Content > Articles manager. Open the article you want to edit.
In the right column open the Parameters (Advanced) tab and select what icons you want to show.
Joomla 1.6.x
Open the admin panel and go to Content > Articles manager. Open the article you want to edit.
In the right column open the Article Options tab and select what icons you want to show.
Menu item options
You can also specify if you want to enable/disable the icons for the menu items. For example you have a category blog menu item and want all articles displayed on the page to have the icons enabled.
Joomla 1.5.x
Open the admin panel and go to Menus and select your menu. There open your menu item. In the right column open the Parameters (Component) tab to switch the icons.
Joomla 1.6.x
Open the admin panel and go to Menus and select your menu. There open your menu item. In the right column open the Article Options tab to switch the icons.
