Joomla 2.5.x. How to remove/unassign modules from single article pages

This tutorial shows you the way to remove/unassign modules from pages in Joomla 2.5.x templates.

Modules in Joomla are used to output some content in desired places (positions). They can display objects such as menu, login form, text block, newsletter subscribe form, banner, search field, etc.

To remove/unassign a module from a page, you should perform the following steps:

1. In your Joomla admin panel navigate to Menus -> Main menu and select the menu item that loads your page from the list:

   

2. In the menu settings in the right column open the Module Assignment for this Menu Item tab and in the list of modules click the module that you want to remove from this page:

   

3. In the appeared window scroll the page down to the Menu Assignment section, open the Main Menu tab there and uncheck your menu item from the list (see the screenshot):

   

4. Then scroll the page up and click on a Save&Close button in the top right corner.

   

   Don’t forget to save the changes in the menu settings as well:

5. Refresh your page to check the changes on your site. You’ll see that non-required module was removed from your page successfully.

The same way you can unassign modules from other menus pages, like System menu, User menu, etc.
