This tutorial shows how to enable frontend editing in Joomla 3.x.

Joomla 3.x. How to enable frontend editing

In addition to articles, Joomla 3.x allows to edit modules and menu items using frontend editing tool. In order to enable this option, you should follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to site backend: System -> Global Configuration -> Site -> Mouse-over edit icons for.

  2. Select ‘Modules’ in the drop-down list and save the changes:

  3. Then, go to site front-end, log in as a user with administrator access level. ‘Edit’ icon will be available for each element of the site. This icon is linked to the module or article manager at the Joomla administrator panel, so you just have to click on it to edit the modules and articles settings.
