Redirect Manager component allows you to redirect the URL of a web page which no longer exists to a working web page.

Make sure you have Use Apache mod_rewrite option enabled in your Joomla! installation Global Configuration. You can check our video tutorial: Joomla 3.x. How to enable and use SEF URLs. It will show you how to enable this option.

Redirect Manager allows you to see what URLs do not exist on your site.

Sometimes you need to enable the Redirect plugin from the Plugin Manager first. You can do it under Extensions > Plugin Manager tab in your Joomla panel.

Find the “System – Redirect” plug-in and be sure it is “Enabled”:

To redirect a page with the Joomla 3.x Redirect Manager, follow the steps below:

1. Log into your Joomla admin panel.

2. Open Components > Redirect page:

   

3. On this page you will see the list of broken URLs. Click on URL you would like to redirect. Or create new redirect if required. Click on the New button:

   

4. In the “Source URL” field, enter the old URL. In the “Destination URL” field, enter the new URL.

5. Make sure that redirect is enabled before saving your changes. Check screen shot below:
