You may receive a blank page at your site front-end or/and back-end after updating Joomla engine.

Let’s learn how to resolve this issue.

First of all you should turn on the error reporting on your server to find out what may cause the blank page issue.

You can see the following error on your site:

Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /var/www/vhosts/face2designhosting.nl/httpdocs/plugins/system/remember/remember.php on line 94 :

In order to get rid of the error if you follow the steps listed below:

1. Navigate to /plugins/system/remember/ directory on your server using FTP/File Manager and locate the remember.php file – rename the file to _remember.php :

   

2. Then, navigate to /plugins/user/joomla/ directory and locate the joomla.php file – rename it to _joomla.php :

   

3. Download Joomla engine from Joomla official website, make sure the engine version matches the one that is installed on your server.

4. Upload the original joomla.php file from the downloaded engine package to the /plugins/user/joomla/ directory on your server:

   

You are now able to access your Joomla administration panel.

1. Navigate to Extensions ->Extension Manager tab:

   

2. Now, click the “Database” tab at the left hand side of the opened page:

   

On the appeared screen, the following message is displayed: “Warning: Database is not up to date!”:

Click “Fix” button in the upper left corner to repair the database structure.

The following message will appear on the screen: “Database table structure is up to date.”:

Navigate back to your FTP and upload the original remember.php file from downloaded Joomla engine package to /plugins/system/remember/ directory on your server:

Open your site front-end and refresh the page. You can see the site is up-and-running again:
