Joomla 3.x. What is module/page class sufix and how to use them

Template CSS classes are not all unique. You might need to add the specific CSS rule for one module/page only.

Adding Module Class Suffix

  1. First, navigate to Extensions > Module manager. Open the needed module.

  2. Go to Advanced Settings, add the Module Class Suffix:

    joomla_what_is_module_class_siffix_1

  3. Click on Save when you are done.

  4. Now, you can work on adding a CSS rule. You will need to use the developer tools.

  5. Since you have a unique CSS class now, you can add the specific CSS rule for this module only:

    joomla_what_is_module_class_siffix_2

Adding Page Class

  1. The page specific CSS class can be added in a similar way. Navigate to Menus > Main menu, open the needed menu item.

  2. See the Page display tab, add your CSS class to Page class field:

    joomla_what_is_module_class_siffix_3

  3. Since you have a unique CSS class now, you can add the specific CSS rule for this page only.
