This tutorial is going to show you how to add New and Sale attributes to your products in Magento store.

Magento. How to add New and Sale products attributes

In order to add New / Sale labels to  your products:

1. Log into your Magento admin panel and go to the menu Catalog -> Attributes -> Manage Attributes. 

2.  Click the Add New Attribute button.

   

3. Under Properties enter “new” in the Attribute Code field. Select  “YES/NO” in the Catalog Input Type for Store.

   

4. Click the Manage Label / Options tab on the left, enter a name, for example “New label” in the Admin  field and Save Attribute .

   

5. Do the same for the Sale label:

   

   

6. Go to Catalog -> Attributes -> Manage Attribute Sets. Choose your attribute set. Usually it is called Default.

   

7. Choose your New and/or Sale attributes from the “Unassigned Attributes” section on the right and drag it to the Groups section on the left.

   

8. Click on Save Attribute Set.

9. Go to Catalog -> Manage Products,  select a  product and set the newly added attributes (new and sale) to “yes” under the General tab and click Save.

   

10. Open the frontage of your site to check if the labels were added.
