Flash. “Unexpected file format” error

Sometimes, when you open the template .fla file with your Flash editor, once you have downloaded the template and uncompressed the sources you might get the following error message:

This means that the template source .fla files were created using a newer version of Flash software. This newer version uses a little bit different substitute and thus you will not be able to open the file with your older version.

To find out the version you need go to your template preview page and see the "Required software" section, you will be able to see the list of the software to use for editing your template

In case you have an older version of Flash software you should upgrade your Flash version. In order to avoid any possible problems, please use the required version Adobe Flash.

Unfortunately, this software upgrade is not for free, but you may use the trial version that is limited to 30 days usage. Please, visit Adobe.com to find out more about the software
