VirtueMart 3.x. How to add child product

This video tutorial is going to show how to create “child” dropdown product variations in VirtueMart 3.x..

1. Log into Joomla admin panel, then go to VirtueMart -> Products and press Add new Product button:

   

2. Create a new product, enter all your product information: Product name, category, price, weight and descriptions:

   

3. When finished, click Save, not Save and Close:

   

4. Now we are going to add the child products. Simply scroll down on the main product information tab. Click Add a Child Product:

   

5. Enter full child product information: name, category, price, weight, image and description:

   

6. When done, click save and close:

   

7. We are going to repeat the process and add one more child product that will have different color and dimensions:

   

8. When done, click on Save and Close:

   

9. Once you have added all of the child products, open the Parent product -> Custom Fields Tab -> under Custom Field Type select Child Variant and then press Save:

   

10. Open your site to check the newly created product with a “child” dropdown product variations:
