What is a CRM System?

Hey there! People often ask me, what is a CRM System and how to use it? That’s actually the kind of business questions I like.

If you are interested in learning the CRM systems it definitely means that you are on the right track and you should definitely be using CRM system for your business as well.

CRM stands for clients relationship management and its a system that you as a business owner use to streamline the process of interacting with your clients. In most cases, CRM systems are used for automating the processes, such as a request for call back or a sign up for a free demo.

This initiates the automated process: users receive the welcome messages from CRM system, they can receive different kind of other messages or the system may send notifications to a sales person.

The point is: whatever you think of for your interaction with the clients can be automated with CRM system. The CRM systems are good for interacting with new prospects and re-engaging with your existing clients from the past.

Aside from the automation, CRM systems are also good because they are a centralized environment.

What are CRM systems used for?

You see, back in the day before these systems arrived, sales teams or the business owners would have the information about different prospects of the business in different locations: some in the e-mail inbox, some in the calendar, some on the cloud storage, etc.

The good thing about the CRM systems is that they centralize all information about a sale or a lead in one single place.

CRM systems are provided as a SAAS services, they are easily accessible from whereever you are, all you need is a browser and Internet connection.

Aside from this, CRM system is a unified environment for sales. It’s a lot easier for business owners to train sales people to work in one single environment instead of training them to work with a lot of stuff that business process may engage.

There is a lot of service systems, like actual tools, currently available in the world. Some of them are industry specific, like for photography businesses, or for industrial business. Some of them are obvious leaders.

For example, there is a tool called Salesforce. Its at least 5 times as popular as the closest competitor. You can think of it as of about WordPress of the CRM market.
