WordPress. How to change slides order in a slider (based on Cherry Framework)

This tutorial is going to show you how to change the default order of slides in the slider of your Cherry based WordPress template.

WordPress. How to change slides order in a slider (based on Cherry Framework)

  1. Go to \wp-content\themes\theme##### on your FTP (where ##### is the number of your template).

  2. Open slider.php to edit.

  3. In case there is no slider.php in the child theme (\wp-content\themes\theme##### where ##### is the number of your template) on your FTP, your should copy slider.php file from the \wp-content\themes\CherryFramework folder to your child theme folder.

  4. Look for lines 12-13 that run:

    'orderby' => 'title',
    'order' => ' ASC ',

    Where:

    • the order (string) designates the ascending or descending order of the ‘orderby’ parameter:

    • ASC – ascending order from lowest to highest values (1, 2, 3; a, b, c).

    • DESC – descending order from highest to lowest values (3, 2, 1; c, b, a).

    • The orderby (string) sorts retrieved posts by parameter. Defaults to ‘title’, but may have other options.:

    • date- Order by date.

    • rand- Random order.

    • author- Order by author.

    • ID – Order by post id. Note the captialization.

    • name- Order by post name (post slug).

    • modified – Order by the last modified date.

  5. For instance, if you want to sort the slides by date in descending order, change the two lines to:

  6. 'orderby' => 'date',
    'order' => 'DESC',

    (The slide added last will come first.)

  7. Save the changes made to the file and check the way your slides are ordered on the front end.
