This tutorial shows how to deal with Contact form 7 “Not Found” error in WordPress.

WordPress. How to deal with [contact-form-7 404 "Not Found"] error

Contact form is set up with Contact-form-7 plugin. First you create the desired layout and fields and then shortcode for this form is generated. It will be used in the page to display the form itself.

Contact form 7 “Not Found” error might appear in the page though:

It means the shortcode used is incorrect. The error can be resolved with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Pages> All pages> select the page with the form (usually that is ‘Contacts’). Locate the shortcode used for the contact form in there. It should be replaced with correct shortcode.

  2. Open Contacts> Contact Forms section. There will be a list of available forms to use. Refer the shortcode tab there and copy the value:

  3. Get back to the Contact page. Delete the old value and paste the correct shortcode instead. Update modifications and view the results.

Contact form appears on the page now.
